Hi peeps!

So this hash tag
#سنحترم_حقوق_المثليين
was heavily trending since Saturday, the 6th of Feb’s morning in the Middle East (and individually per country as well) with a total of over a million hit.

Thoughts ?
You think there is hope ?

( here is a screen shot I put together if you wanna see for yourself. All Arab countries that appear in Twitter hash tag tailoring included : http://i.imgur.com/1GWSmnT.jpg )

Wow that’s awesome, I wonder what started it?

#3

What does it mean?

@femmeprincess : I’m not quite sure but they say it came first from Lebanon.
@Edel : the hash tag says “we will respect gay people rights”

It was typically filled with mixed tweets of supporters and haters.

I saw this hash tag too but unfortunately it was filled with tweets of haters , they were cursing and mocking , I didn’t find any supporters , maybe I didn’t look well , but still there’s always a hope.

A correction regarding the origin of the hashtag; it surprisingly started from Saudia Arabia after a Saudi we known youtubers made a video to mock homosexuality after the news of a gay wedding in Riyadh, however it backfired at them and got lots of hate for it afterwards, hence the hashtag. Also the video has been removed permanently.

I don’t really think it’s anything of any use. Few people will dare to show support and many more will just start hating.
