why do we categorize our selves??? thinking about it lately.

I think it’s less about us categorizing ourselves and more about people categorizing us, right? People always assume that they’re in a position to define and judge others, it’s just how things are, and maybe a way for them to deal with their own set of insecurities. Unfortunately I don’t think this will change.

yeah i agree they started it…but we got caught up with it that we had to make carnivals and parades to secure our selves and show our pride…and now there are gay areas gay bars gay restaurants gay social sites…possible that was needed for sometime but i guess its time to mix things up and change what we think it couldnt be changed…

As far as labeling goes, I think that belongs in a Science lab where scientists need name to identify things. But then I think labeling in the LGBT community comes from a need to belong. They are the minority and discriminated and alienated so often that knowing that there are others like them, who understand and are in the same situation as them is a comfort.
